It was released as a promotional single through RCA Records and Kemosabe Records on September 10, 2021, and is a cover of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's song "You're the One That I Want", released on 1978 for the 1978 film version of the musical Grease.

Doja Cat appeared in a Pepsi commercial, in which she plays Sandy Olsson from Grease, and sings the classic track from the 1978 film, "You’re the One That I Want".[1][2] The Pepsi's commercial aired during the MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, 2021.

- Doja sung a bit of the original song during the game "Word Assosciaton" with ELLE in December 2019, where artists have to sing a song containing a word they're given, with Doja's word being "want". She would later cover it for the Pepsi commercial. [3]
