"Stranger" is a song by Doja Cat. It was released through Kemosabe and RCA Records on September 26, 2025, as the sixth track on her fifth studio album, Vie. It was later released as the albums third single on September 29, 2025, alongside its official music video.

Background[]

The song wasn’t present in two demo tracklists shared by Doja Cat in November 2024 and April 2025, making this song out to be a last-minute addition.

On September 19, 2025, Doja revealed the track list to her upcoming fifth studio album, Vie, in which the song was revealed for the first time.[1]

On September 29, 2025, a mini teaser of the songs music video was teased via Doja Cat’s Instagram story, confirming it to be released the same day.

Theme[]

The song is a celebration of individuality, unconventional love and the power of finding someone who matches your energy no matter how “strange” it may seem to others. Doja frames the relationship as a safe space where weirdness isn’t just tolerated but cherished, turning “strange” into a badge of honor.

The lyrics explore themes of authenticity and acceptance and highlights how the couple stands out (“With each crowd, we proud we don't fit”) and refuses to conform to outside judgment.
