"No Police" is a song by Doja Cat. It appears as the fourth track on her debut EP, Purrr!, released on August 5, 2014. It was later released as the EP's sole promotional single on August 12, 2014. The song also uses the instrumental track "We Can't Be Friends" produced by Dream Koala.
Background[]
On September 19, 2013, Doja posted a short clip to her Instagram account of the songs process in the studio, captioned "🌴💀💀💀💀💀💀🌴". On September 28, 2013, Doja shared a selfie on Instagram, captioned "All these bars no police". Both of these posts have since been deleted as of 2021 or 2022.
The song has had two demo versions leak overtime, one of them containing a different third verse that was scrapped. That verse was also in her 2013 SoundCloud-exclusive song "CALI BITCH MENTALITY"., makkng it liely both of these songs were made in the same session.
After Doja's later songs like "Juicy" and "Say So" became popular through the video-sharing app TikTok, "No Police" received a small boost of attention and has since become the second-most streamed track from her extended play, Purrr!.
