The song was revealed around 2017 - 2018, when Doja Cat shared an image of the early track listing of Amala before its release. This track list consists of a few tracks that never ended up making the final cut, one of which including "Call Me". The song can be viewed as the third track in the "alt tracks" and currently remains unheard.
